Amy Rothschild

Teacher. Writer.

I write about a wide range of topics affecting young children. My work has appeared in The AtlanticDissent, and The Washington Post. I taught preschool and Kindergarten for more than ten years in both public and private schools, mostly in Washington, DC. These days I live in Cambridge, MA and spend my time raising my young child and writing at every opportunity. My poetry appears at Maudlin House and HOOT and is forthcoming in the Bellevue Literary Review, where I am the winner of the John & Eileen Allman Prize for Poetry.

I hold a B.A. in English from Yale and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Lesley University, neither of which matter in the slightest to my four year-old when I tell him to do something.
